The possibilities for self-deception are infinite, I knew. And I was sure "I know that our love is good" was right up there with "It seemed like a good idea at the time" as the phrase of choice of love- and lust-addled adulterers and sundry other kinds of sinner.
But at the end of the day, one is left with oneself, one's conscience however formed , and the stirrings of the spirit.

We were all made by God and He loves each of us the same; He wants us all to be in heaven with Him.
Since God is all-loving He has given us free will so that we can choose to love Him or not. Individuals go to hell if they choose to turn away from God and cut themselves off from His love through unrepented mortal sins. Being gay is not a mortal sin; acting out on it with full knowledge is. Just like being heterosexual is not a mortal sin, but you can sin mortally by acting out on it in certain ways.
It is never our intention to reduce a person to their sexual orientation, even as we seek to call all people to lives of joy-filled chastity. I'm just striving for sainthood through lots of imperfect ways. I daydream about heaven, where I want to be the patron saint of lifeguards. I think I might paint my nails just so I can pick it off.
