Stayed here for just over a week in January had not joined trip advisor then - an excellent place to stay. Mr Gomez and his staff are super-friendly and helpful and excellent ambassadors for Sri Lanka.
Excellent large and clean rooms with free wi-fi and serviced daily - also rooms have a safe. Daily breakfast is a treat. Airport pick-up was not a problem - friendly and efficient driver. Easy walking access to local shops, eating places, bars and the beach. Hotel also offers reasonable exchange rate for local; currency and can arrange tours as well as detailed local information. I had to move from the original hotel I had booked in Negombo for my holiday in December '13 -January '14 for personal reasons. When I asked Mr Gomez if he could accommodate me at Gomez Place at such short notice, he said yes and both he and his staff were incredibly kind, professional and helpful.
I had a wonderful stay there for 2 weeks and it was solely down to him for 'rescueing' my holiday when all seemed lost! The room was huge as was the bathroom and was cleaned every day to a very high standard, and the breakfasts were excellent. Local advice on tours ands trips was also excellent and all in all I had a splendid time there. I will be going back there as often as I can, though I hope that the next time I will be able to give Mr Gomez just a little more notice than a few hours!

Gomez and his staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacey, friendly and clean. The breakfast was rich, tasty and individually served in the tropical courtyard. If you stay in Negombo this place ist asolutely recommendable. You have a good value for the money and leave as a friend.
The airport is only 30 minutes away,- so even good for a short stay. Here it is accepted to stay with your local friends, unlike most other accomodations!! We stayed at Gomez Place the first and the last night of our round trip through Sri Lanka. Both rooms were big, clean, with fridge and a big bathroom.
